Our debut workshop New year, new She was exciting, humbling, scary, beautiful, and validating. It was exciting to finally launch this concept that has felt like a strong calling to our hearts. It was humbling to see all of our attendees really enjoy and soak in the offerings. It was kind of scary to put ourselves out there like that (imposter syndrome seems to be always looming). It was a beautiful learning experience (as most launches are). But perhaps most of all, it was so validating to know that there are plenty of people in our community that want to show up, learn, and grow together. A big heart felt thank you to all of them – you are the reason why we have poured so much time and love into this collective!
Highlights from the workshop below 🙂
Breathwork Mini Class: Awareness in Breathing
We opened the morning with a circle, as we sipped steaming herbal tea to warm up from the frosty January morning. Our resident therapist Emily led us through some breathwork exercises and explained how different breathing techniques can help transform our mind and body as well as reset our neural responses.

Gentle Yoga Class
We worked out all the kinks and knots from residual holiday stress together, led by our Yoga teacher Melissa. It was a beautifully grounding way to break up the workshop, stretching out our spines and increasing blood flow to our bodies.

Intro to an Ayurvedic Winter Class with cooking demo
Ayurveda has been around for thousands of years and has an almost spiritual approach to cooking and eating. Ashley, board certified Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor and owner of Woodland Wellness Ayurveda, took us through the main points of Ayurveda and Ayurvedic cooking in a 2.5 hour class and cooking demonstration. We discussed things like doshas, constitutions, seasonal eating for winter as well as common winter herbs and spices and their benefits. We discussed how to make a bone broth from scratch as we sampled her rich, savory broth that she had prepared. She brought us ayurvedic meals to sample like veggie quinoa, pickled ginger, and winter baked apples (all with recipes sent to each participant). She answered our questions, she made us laugh, and most of all, she inspired us to approach cooking in a new and thoughtful way.

It was a really wonderful workshop launch and we were so happy and proud to have started this collective. We can’t wait to get started on the next event!
